David was the photographer at our wedding at Broadoaks Country House. The brief was an intimate wedding of just our close family and friends and we wanted relaxed photographs of people enjoying the day without having to pose for lots of photographs. Communication from David was fantastic, answering questions, going through options and quick responses too! On the day, David seamlessly fit into our day and took some fabulous photographs of our ceremony and the requested group shots and family photo's. Due to the time of our wedding and the darker evenings, we had to compromise on our dream of having lake photographs to be able to get some key shots at the venue itself and we weren't blessed with the best of weather with snow, heavy rainfall and flooding! I asked David if there was anyway we could capture our lakeside shots at another time and David came back to the hotel the very next day so we could capture those all important shots whilst we were at the hotel still, without having to compromise our wedding day by leaving our guests to get to the lake. We have some fantastic shots and loved every second of our wedding day, so many thanks David!!

We’d like to thank David so much for all his hard work as our Wedding Photographer. Communication before the wedding was excellent; professional, friendly, always timely and he answered my 100s of questions thoroughly.
On the day he really put us at ease, we are not fond of the limelight or having photos taken but David made it easy and fun. He was a really calming influence and is clearly really knowledgeable about all things wedding so was very helpful. When we received the photos, I was amazed with the shots of the ceremony he got as I had never even seen him there. He was never in our faces or in the way. He just got on with getting all the beautiful background kind of shots; of the room set up, cake, grounds etc and they are all lovely and artistic.
We got our proof shots back so quickly and we were amazed. The candid shots of all our guests are fantastic and captured so much that we missed. There are so many artistic shots, David has a great eye for capturing detail in interesting ways. We had some phots down by the Lake and David has captured the light spectacularly and the photos are just stunning. We can’t thank him enough and would highly recommend him to anyone, in a heartbeat.

When we booked David to be our photographer, we knew he was going to have his work cut out for him with our wedding! We had a packed venue with lots of family and friends who all wanted to be included, and David managed to capture it all perfectly. He worked longer than his usual hours to make sure he photographed as much of our day as possible, and blended seamlessly into the crowd – sometimes interacting and having a laugh with our guests and sometimes taking sneaky candids without them even knowing. We had a lot of big personalities who loved giving David something to photograph, so the fact that he went along with all of it was a huge component of making our day so much fun. He also seemed to be enjoying himself as much as we were – you can tell David loves what he does!

The ‘snaps’ themselves were drop dead gorgeous! When he posted a sample to social media we immediately had family and friends tell us how stunning they were, and we totally agree! We have no idea how we’ll choose which ones to print out because we love them all. Our wedding was September and it was important for me to have all the hues of autumn, and David’s photographs made the colours of the outfits, flowers, and gardens absolutely POP! He showed us how to pose flatteringly with little effort, and even when we fell into fits of giggles, he made our questionable facial expressions look somehow artistic. There was no expectation to suddenly become a model with David, he made us feel comfortable enough to just be ourselves and that was so refreshing.

Above all though, David’s versatility was the standout of the day. We had a schedule for ‘family photos’ … but that quickly went out the window when guests started making their own photo schedule! We had people joining in photos they weren’t meant to be in, we had people deciding they wanted to stand somewhere different, people wanting to take David away from what he was doing to shoot something else – and David was a professional the entire time! He was totally flexible and able to pivot from one plan to another, which made us feel like we were in good hands.

Overall, we can’t thank David enough for photographing our wedding in a light that was so perfect in capturing the spirit of the day. He is talented, warm and sociable, adaptable, quick to respond in communications and in delivering your photos, and with first-rate photographs and a stellar sense of humour you really can’t go wrong in booking him!

David perfectly captured the special moments of our day. From helping us plan the photos, to telling us how to hold our hands, and gathering our large families for the group shots, David really put us at ease throughout and captured some incredible photos from day that will stay with us for a lifetime.

We wanted lots of natural and organic photos throughout the day. And David was really able to capture those special moments for our photos. He has that incredible ability to get people to smile without ever telling you to smile or say “cheese”, so even the group photos feel natural and organic.

He made it his mission to capture a great photo of every guest (even the toddlers who barely sat still for 12 hours!), which was a nice touch we hadn’t thought about. But it was lovely to look through our photos and see that everyone was represented.

Big groups can be difficult to manage and get everyone together and in place for photos, but David’s clear direction made this seem simple.

We’re not models, and this is where David really shined, scoping out places in the grounds and creating scenarios where we could be our natural selves, smiling and enjoying each other’s company. He shared his experience and provided helpful tips throughout the day, including how to stand, where to place our hands, and where to look for photos.

I’d strongly recommend David to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. Looking back at the photos brings back incredible memories of the day.

Booked David fairly last minute for my teeny tiny wedding which only included me and my husband (obviously!), our parents and our three small boys. Communication was fab start to finish, he answered any question I had no matter how silly I thought the question was!
Originally we wanted just us pictures on the jetty but very last minute I changed my mind and I messaged David asking if I could go a bit more out the way for some hilly lake style shots and he was very obliging and suggested Brantfell, even doing a dummy run on the morning of the wedding to see the parking situation etc before he came to us!

Day of the wedding he arrived prompt at the time we set out and started on the shots we had planned (an itinerary if you like!). With it being a very small wedding I expected to feel uncomfortable but David is a very easy, friendly and humorous person to be around and despite my awkwardness around a camera 😂 I at least didn't feel awkward around David! He managed to blend in with the day and even managed to cram in some shots I don't think I originally asked for!

Now on to Brantfell..
This was easily my favourite part of the day. Not just because of the pictures but because I'm a scenery girl through and through and the view from up there is absolutely breathtaking! (Literally 😂)
But more importantly the pictures we got from up there are exactly what I hoped for and more.

We received the pictures sooner than I thought and absolutely love them (especially the ceremony shots which I almost said no to but so glad I didn't 🥹)

We had the absolute pleasure of having David as our wedding photographer at Broadoaks Country House in the Lake District, and we couldn't be happier with the results. From the moment we met David, we knew we were in good hands. His professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire process.

David captured every special moment of our wedding day beautifully. The photos are stunning and truly reflect the joy and love we felt. He has an incredible eye for detail and managed to capture not only the big moments but also the small, intimate ones that mean so much to us.

One of the highlights was the additional pictures taken on Lake Windermere. The scenery and cloud formation were breathtaking and David's ability to incorporate the natural beauty of the location into our photos was remarkable.
