OK, I’ve used this service a few times now since my drone collection has gotten quite large and I fly more often which means I crash more often. The ease of doing business with them by mail combined with the effective communication process along the way complemented by reasonable pricing puts these guys above the rest. The last two drones I had repaired literally came back brand new, I mean, I didn’t get back my drone. I got back a brand new drone in a sealed box, literally. No need for me to find another vendor in this category..:)

I'm an active Drone user for my work within Real Estate and Landscaping Design and I'm in the busy season for filming and photos. I submitted my drone 8.15.24 and received my fixed mini Pro 3 back today 9.9.24. Everything is in working order and good as new. I clipped a tree at night and it damaged the left wing, left wing light and damaged a few propellers preventing it from flying. I gave them a shot after reading some poor reviews but after this experience, I'm always going to use DDS for any services I need. The Customer Support was great. Bill from Customer Support answered me back within a few hours of every email I had with questions and update requests. Looking through these other poor reviews, I feel those people either didn't realize how expensive drones are when they purchased them, how long things take to be fixed and what the expectations are going into this service. I got the free mailing label, went to FedEx that day, shipped to the tech, paid my quote within a week online and received it 2-3 weeks later. DDS has great communication with its customers, returned my drone good as new. Thank you!

Sent my drone in for repair and denied repair because of the price they quoted me. Getting my drone back was difficult. I called and waited for weeks after a shipping label was created. I finally called again and was assured my drone was being shipped that day. It wasn’t. I finally received my drone and it was extremely poorly packaged, beat up and my original DJI box was ripped open on one corner. They also sent the drone back with the gimbal cover floating around the box potentially damaging my device more .

Destroyed my drone on its maiden flight..had it in sport mode which disabled all the safeties...threw it in a box sent it to DDS and when i got my drone back i was a happy man. It looked like new..I am taking it out for a flight test later this evening.. so excited..thanks guys ...you are top notch. I would recomend DDS to anyone. Keep up the good work and enjoy your holidays.

Do NOT use DDS Drone Repair Service for any of your drone repair needs. If you decline their "free" quote, they will hold your drone hostage for months at a time and will not send it back unless lawyers get involved. I highly advise against using their service, coming from an employee of a large American General Contractor.

Update: After I got my drone back from DDS (painstakingly)I sent it into DJI (the manufacturer) for the repair. After getting quoted $389 by DDS Drone Services, the repair only costs $168 (from the manufacturer!). So unless you want to overpay by hundreds, and still possibly never see your drone again, do not go to DDS.

The process to send in our drone and getting an estimate went really well. But once I got it back I was a little disappointed because there was a loose screw that fell out from inside the drone and a part for the one of the rotors did not get fixed like I asked. I emailed customer service and they sent me another shipping label, I sent it back and they took care of it without any additional costs.

UPDATE 6/1/20
We were having an issue with our drone not responding correctly and once we got it down we noticed the legs were loose. After talking to our in house drone experts they said the antenna runs through the legs and that is what may be causing the drone to not respond. Our in house expert took it apart and found that there were many (3) missing screws, one in the leg. Also there was a screw used that was the wrong size and a missing LED lense.

I am revising my rating from a 5 to a 1, very shoddy workmanship even though they had two opportunities to get it right. I will never use this company again.

They quoted me $315 to repair my drone with many parts that I wasn’t sure were totally necessary. I agreed to the amount though and paid. It took about a month from that point to get any updates with me having to email requests for updates. Finally they informed me that my drone was completed and test flights were done. I received my drone back nearly two months after sending it to find… no repairs were done at all. My drone still displayed the exact same error codes as before. What’s more, several screws were missing and the shell was sitting loose on the body.

I paid $315 for nothing and didn’t have my drone that I use as part of my business for over two months. This was a complete waste of time. If I don’t hear back today with a full apology and refund I will be filing a chargeback with my card company as well as a complaint with the better business bureau. The reasoning for the blatant lies at various stages of the “repair” process had better be good. Don’t waste your time with these people.

UPDATE: I was offered two options for recourse on this matter, a refund or a replacement Mavic Pro. Wanting to end this matter, I asked for a refund. I then got a call from someone asking why I didn't want the drone replaced if it truly wasn't repaired. I felt some implication of me being dishonest about the state I received the returned drone in. So I agreed to send it back. When they got it, I didn't hear anything for a few days so I reached out and was informed that they would be trying to repair my drone again and if that wasn't possible, they would send out the new one. So of my two choices I was strongly directed away from one and lied to again with the other. I'm now at 3 months without the Mavic Pro in my fleet, costing me money. Everyone I've corresponded with has been friendly enough, but this is not good customer service.

As two added points: I was told more than once that they are doing my repair at a loss. I don't understand this, they sent me the full diagnosis and what it would cost, why wasn't a price that could net them profit quoted? I also wanted any and all broken/unusable parts to be included with the drone's return, this request seems to have been ignored the first time, but then again it seems that nothing was replaced.
