Although I have flown drones for many years, I never had the confidence of flying in different places and certainly had no clue as to fly in a cinematic way. Many YouTube videos and instructional videos were insufficient to provide that knowledge. Being with Chris was beyond an adventure and gave me the confidence and knowledge to fly my drone safely and record better footage unlike my poor amateur attempts before. The tour was so good and Chris was so passionate, patient and professional that I would have enjoyed the entire experience even if I didn’t have a drone. It was that good!!! I am going back so don’t take my spot!!!

I had been planning a similar trip for almost 2 years to the Faroe Islands & was excited to join Chris & other Drone Pro Academy students to hit the same spots I had been planning. I was happy to get some personal coaching on my shooting style, dialing in my settings, & walking me through the best angles & paths for my shots. I built some good friendships with other drone pilots & we shared tips & ideas & had a great time together shooting, joking, traveling, hiking & having fun. It made the trip so much better! Chris even took some extra time to go get a shot that was not on the travel plans when we had some extra time & helped me take advantage of the light to get a really great shot I had been dying to get. One day when we were rained out we spent the day editing & doing FPV drills. I was later able to fly a small slot canyon confidently as a result & got some good footage of that run.

Scotland 2024 excursion: Perfect number of participants. Chris was able to help all of us without too much confusion. I was the least experienced but learned so much from Chris and the other drone pilots. Chris was well organized... locations were great... food was excellent and the hotels were very comfortable.

DPA provided me with a very unique ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to fly around Scotland and capture some of the most beautiful and fascinating landscapes I’ve ever seen. Chris’s background of Scotland kept the trip interesting and completely enjoyable. I would have to have a darn good excuse not to go on another expedition!

Great experience! I did study but failed first time through. However, they made good on their promise and upon me signing up for the exam again I simply provided them the receipt and they reimbursed me. Good news! I passed the 107 the second time and I am now licensed. I found their courses to be very helpful and comprehensive. Thanks to everyone at Drone Pro Academy!

DPA is made up of Drone Professionals lead by Chris Newman. Chris has put together an amazing training program to learn how to become better at shooting cinematic aerial shots. I would highly recommend joining DPA if you seek out to be a better drone pilot.
