Had a really amazing experience having my broken drones looked at (Autel, an old DJI Phantom 4). Sadly they were not able to be repaired due to parts that are not able to be procured from China. However, I was treated very well by all the staff, and not charged a dime after over a month of them trying to get ahold of parts through a 3rd party.

Great communication throughout the whole process, if I have the misfortune of another drone problem, I will be coming here.

Drones utilized in the public safety arena, whether it be for police operations or fire/rescue missions, is a game changer. My name is Kevin Bryant and I am the police operations Captain for Butner Public Safety, a 40-officer public safety department located just north of Raleigh, North Carolina. Butner Public Safety is unique due to the requirement of its officers to be dual certified in both police and fire. I have always been inclined to seek out the newest technology and equipment offered to aid in our missions. Drones were naturally a step toward the future in aiding and heightening our abilities to better serve our community.

Research into the realm of drones initially led me to Chinese manufactured drones that were produced in mass quantity. While researching, I found that the road for these manufactures was on shaky ground and believed it to be too risky to invest in a manufacturer that may not be able to offer support in the future. As with all law enforcement and fire equipment, support is vital due to the nature of the job and how hard the job is on equipment. While having experience with many different equipment manufacturers within the fire service, I discovered that Flir was producing a drone and due to my experience with Flir cameras, I knew it would be a top-notch product. Flir is a household name in the fire service that has been relied upon for decades to provide state of the art thermal imaging. I also learned that the Flir drone, called the Siras, was almost entirely manufactured in the USA which would not make it susceptible to potential governmental bans. I also knew firsthand that Flir stood behind their products and offered a great deal of support.

A Youtube video led me to Lone Star Drones. A simple email was all it took to get a response from Brandon Butler, a Sales Rep from the company. I expected the normal informational phone call that encompassed a sales pitch with information that I already knew but instead, Brandon offered to fly from Texas to North Carolina to offer a demonstration of the Siras. This was something I didn't expect and was amazed that a company would take the time and spend the money to demo their equipment. I knew that if they were willing to go to such lengths, they were confident in the abilities of the Siras.

Brandon met me at the airport and after a quick trip back to our station, he was set up and ready to go. A few other officers from surrounding agencies were also in attendance as they too were seeking to acquire USA made drones. First and foremost, Brandon was awesome to work with. He really didn't have to push the product because he was confident in its abilities. I had a few requirements of the drone that had to be met to ensure that it was the right drone for us. First, it had to have the best thermal camera offered and second, it had to be able to fly over sensitive, flight restricted areas without delay. The Siras met both of those requirements. The thermal camera was stellar, and the lack of geo fencing made the Siras the obvious choice. Unlike the Chinese manufactured drones, the Siras was not required to connect to the internet or seek authorization before flying over prisons and hospitals in our jurisdiction. Brandon launched the drone within minutes and flew over a hospital that authorized to our department but was off limits to Chinese drones that we had attempted to do the same flight within the past. While using the thermal camera, we were able to see pedestrians clearly from an altitude of approximately 400 feet. The capabilities of the Siras was exactly what our agency needed. Another requirement was that support was offered and that down time would be minimal if a repair was needed. Lone Star drones gave us confidence by offering to send a spare replacement drone while repairs were being made if needed.

Overall, I cannot recommend Lone Star drones and the Flir Siras enough.

Review: Extremely Disappointing and Unreliable Drone Repair Service

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with this drone repair service. My drone was with them for almost a month, and they called me saying it was ready for pickup. After driving an hour to their location, I found out it wasn't actually ready. The second time they called, I made the trip again and they assured me they had completed a waterproof test, which was crucial since my drone is waterproof.

However, when I got home and opened the box, I discovered that all the screws were loose, and three out of eight were missing. This is completely unacceptable! To make matters worse, they never return calls, making it impossible to get any sort of support or follow-up.

This level of negligence is dangerous. If the drone were to fall from the sky and hit someone, it could cause serious harm. This company is highly irresponsible and I strongly advise against using their services.

The minute you walk in you are greeted with professionalism. Very helpful at all levels. I was expecting to leave my DJI mini 3 pro drone but it was repaired while I waited!! Will definitely be my go to place for service and sales.
