D captured every detail from each emotion we felt throughout the day, to the flowers and rings and trees around us. They had great ideas for some amazing shots that we will cherish forever, and they checked in with us several times throughout the day to make sure we were getting everything we had hoped for. Wow, what an amazing experience it was working with D. and their partner Meg. I received a free session from D. as a part of a local giveaway for proposal sessions.

D. was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the whole process. From the intake call where we discussed all of the details of my surprise proposal, to the lead up moments before, and of course during the big moments, they made me feel completely seen, included and heard. I loved D.’s approach to the whole process - asking about my partner and my preference for types of shots, scouting out the location and light at the time of day I wanted to propose, factoring in time after the proposal for us to have a moment alone together, the hyping up words all throughout the session.

The end results of my edited photos are fabulous, some of the best pictures I’ve ever seen of myself. It felt like they captured the real “us” and love of me and my now fiance. I’m SO grateful to D for making this life changing moment that much more special.

My fiancée and I thoroughly enjoyed our engagement shoot with River & Root Photography. Before taking the photos, we didn’t know where we wanted to have our shoot, we only had a vision in mind. Our photographer, D, took our ideas and came up with three perfect, thoughtful location suggestions.

The day of our shoot, D made us feel comfortable taking photos and being our true authentic selves in front of the camera. The photos themself turned out amazing and beautiful. We couldn’t be happier with the photos we received! On top of that, the entire album of photos were ready way ahead of schedule!
