I saw Richard Greens post and felt a need to reply I have been attending this college since 2018. I'm surprised to hear this instructor is still teaching. I filed a formal complaint with The Student Life Coordinator and The Dean of Student Affairs I also talked to The Director of the school (he resigned once I completed my certification)as well as emailed The President of the campus. They told me they would "investigate" the situation. He would not stand up and teach, and we spent the majority of our time watching videos and on our phone. When asked questions, he didn't have an answer and said he would "have to look it up." Of all the students, I was the only one to build a drone, which he made me wire wrong because my drone didn't match my schematic. I told him what I thought I was supposed to do based on the schematic; however, he insisted I followed his instructions. This resulted in my Flight controller burning and my drone to be useless.
This isn't a bad school; the administration department needs plenty of work. The majority of my help while attending this college has come from the financial aid department (they are doing their best/giving their all). All things aside, the instructors do stress safety; however, they will not hammer it on you if you fail to listen, you pay the consequences. Besides the instructor in reference, the instructors are very knowledgeable and will teach if you truly wish to learn.
Like most of these comments say, this is a for-profit school. And you truly do get what you put in. Unless you try and strive to learn chances are you're going to fall off the radar, and the classes will become nearly impossible to pass.

I picked up my A&P license here at this FOR PROFIT school for $40k about 5yr ago. My experience this far, as an A&P mechanic, for the LARGEST REGIONAL Airline.

I do love my job and enjoy my work.1st time I've ever been able to say that.

I am over the hill . You will work nights and weekends for the rest of your life, depending on base and location. If you are somewhere to work days, your days will be boring and putting a screw in here and there and lots of paperwork if you don't have the part needed, during the day.

Boring days, without actually working on aircraft. Or nights and weekends for the rest of your life, with no extra pay for more responsibilities, taxiing aircraft, night shift premiums. I love my job,other than nights, weekends, and pay.

Spartan made it sound like it is a great career, pay, benefits, retirement, etc. The job Is better than hauling trash. Just pat and benefits are no where near where they should be.

I attended the on campus portion with kids. Some younger than my own. The kids mostly slept and copied the school work. There was 25 or so in my class, by the time we had our license I believe 2-4 people ended up with license.

Parents, if you have $40k laying around or would like a $40k loan payment, by all means give it to Spartan. Personally, I would not send my kids here, if I only knew then what I know now.

I'd have never wasted $40k. There is $ to be made if you'd like to live in a large city. I'm talking LA large, or San Fran Large, or Dallas Large. Large cities. With the possibility of a layoff, if you have seniority built up. You might get to bump to another base, somewhere else.

It's not as good as everyone thinks. Spartan was a waste, this is a young, single man's profession. With The possibility of making good $, along with possibilities of being laid off and having to bump to another city.

Live and Learn!! Attend somewhere else.

Terrible place to go to school they set you up for failure. I had a hard time making payments last year when I was enrolled. And now I have vocational rehabilitation paying for my school. I was told I need to write an apology letter for being broke and not being able to make my PAST payments. Even though it's NOW payed for. Like come on people

The BSTM Online program at Spartan is an excellent way to continue a quality education while still working. The program is robust and challenging, yet not overly so. All instructors were professional and available to help when needed. The feedback provided during assignments was always helpful and encouraging. Special shout outs to Darren Hill and Cindy Brown you took courses that looked like they would be tough and boring and made them interesting which made the time fly by. Also I would like to thank Dr. Candace Goodwin and her entire team they are all excellent professionals who obviously care about the success of every student. I highly recommend Spartan College for anyone looking to continue their education in Aviation.

Update to my previous 5star review, I now have my A&P certification.!!!!... I'm mentioning this, so everyone knows I'm not on here crying because things didn't go my way. Now upon completion of the diploma (online) AMT program. This college is an absolute Joke, Parents I am a 42 year old parent of 2, I've been married 22years. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS COLLEGE. Back to my experience. Which after completing program with approximately 3.5 GPA, (give or take) and perfect attendance. I will receive NOTHING. However I enrolled in the Associates Program. You would think after the 20months and $35,000, I would obtain a diploma at completion, now back to the College. My time on ground was short, because I done the hybrid program (13 mo. online) AMT. (8mo) on ground. Housing is a joke as far as fitting the students together, we had alcoholics pass out in the kitchen, smoking in the rooms. However the rooms are livable, not bad the housing manager is a sweetheart, does what she can for the students. Back to my current situation. I was almost forced to take my Gen Eds after the diploma program. Spartan is out for the MONEY only. They would rather your student finish Associates so they get paid in full rather focus on the A&P license 1st. There is however maybe 3-5 people around that care but that's like having 50 employees and 10 that care about what they're building. This place sucks. I'm not a crybaby 18-25yr old on here whining because things didn't go my way. Things did turn out in my favor, because I've obtained my A&P. My daughter is older than some of my class mates. I have photos of student's playing video games. watching movies, sleeping in class. So parents if you'd like to waste $40k so your kids can go take a nap and watch movies, by all means, Spartan needs money to hopefully buy some equipment and tools around the campus that works. The Spartan name as far as that goes, was worth alot, years ago... so that is all your get by coming here. As of today, greed has taken over. I've watched 3 of the best instructors resign, in the 8 month's of on ground. While on ground, I was actually hired by a local aircraft parts maker (Gulfstream). Good start pay, but the problem was I needed a week off for orientation. So I couldn't even accept the job... In my field....which I was being trained for. I have a 10yr old son at home. Due to this BS at Spartan placing blame on the FAA for (why I couldn't take the week off) put my family in another bind financially. Now I want to say, my wife and I decided to sell our home and everything we could for us to afford for me to attend, we sacrificed everything.. now that I've obtained my A&P certification, hopefully we can crawl up out of this mess of Spartan. Spartan handed me the books and some instructors fed me some information, I made the best of what I had to work with. It is due to my dedication and sacrifices my family and I made for me to obtain the A&P. So Parents, from 1 parent to another, please DO NOT GIVE SPARTAN YOUR $$. This school lost its accreditation. My brother almost completed his two year degree from this school but did not pass history due to some retarded ass policies at the school. He went to a real college to complete his history requirement and passed it. He asked Spartan to accept this one transfer credit to finally earn his degree he spent so much money and worked so hard towards. They don't want to accept it because he's not paying to retake the class at the school (which he did and ran into the same issue again). Don't waste your time. Other colleges are way cheaper and are accredited. Join the military if you can to learn to fly or become a mechanic. You'll go farther and earn a better experience.

All around a good school. They are a fast past school. They run it more like a job. 730 to 3. Monday thru Friday. Have to have your polo and a belt, or you can't be in class.
Classes are quite indepth. I am currently a bench tech working on medical equipment. Everything I do everyday, I learned in Spartan. Well, the basics anyway. Which is where you all going to this school will start at any company.
Spartan gets their teachers from the field. All teachers have multi years of experience. Due to this, they have seen almost everything. They have answers to almost anything. They will also teach you what you need to know to be a great tech when you graduate. If you listen anyway.
The only downsides is the facility, it could do with a nice makeover. Which surprises me, due to how expensive the school is. Other then that. Great school. ? Second was the drone class. Main reason I went to the school. My class was the second to ever take it. It was lacking hard-core. Was quite disappointed. Of course it was very fresh and had lots of bugs. Im sure they have worked that out.
I would recommend this school to others looking to get a degree as fast as possible. I had an associates In Just over a year. And that degree has launch me far into a career.

I'm currently attending Spartan for the ndt program. The school hasn't reached my expectations at all. The recruiters tell you things that the school has but it actually doesn't. I was told there was a free flight class ( there isn't) and one of my classmates was told there was a gym and pool and there isn't one of those either. The education is handled poorly, Spartan hires new teachers that have no experience and don't know how to teach. Which forces you to teach yourself. The financial aid office doesn't know their head from their a$$ . The only thing good about the school is it's misleading reputation. It has a reputation to be a good school, however it isn't the case. Spartan produces good workers, because the students that do get jobs are hard workers, not because of the school. Spartan is and has been a disappointment to many students.
