0/5 stars. THREW MY FILM OUT WITH NO APOLOGY. The guy working there was so rude on both occasions. Dropping off my film he was rude and gave me one word responses with limited infomation. I told them I was going on a trip and I would collect in a couple months. When I came to collect my prints, which I paid $100 for, he said he threw them away because I was longer than 3 days to collect them?! “It was on the email” he said. Blank expression and no apology or refund. The website is also really difficult and clunky to navigate and hard to actually download the images from. Will never be using again. The worst film developing experience I’ve ever had.

Disappointing Experience with Passport Size Photography

I recently visited for a basic passport-sized photo, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The photo was poorly taken, with noticeable issues such as an asymmetrical face and poor lighting. When I raised these concerns after the initial shot, the photographer took another photo, but the problems persisted.

Although he showed me the image on his camera, it was difficult to judge the details on such a small screen. However, when I saw the digital copy later, the issues were evident. I pointed them out again, but the photographer insisted that this was what I had agreed to, which was frustrating.

It was surprising and disappointing to see such a lack of basic understanding of passport photography, especially from a studio that has been in service for so many years. Attention to detail is critical, and this experience clearly missed the mark. I would not recommend them for passport photos based on this experience.

Will never use again. I was warned not go to here because apparently the staff were rude and its expensive but I tried it anyway... I should have listened to my friend. The man working today was so rude and unhelpful. I had to ask lots of questions to get minimal information from him...? It was a weird interaction I must say.. Will NOT be recommending to anyone I know, nor will I go back.

Rude customer service and 20pct restocking fee on unused items like memory cards

They charged me double the price on standard SD memory card compared to market price. I can accept premium on buying things at whistler but 100pct premium is a bit too much. Maybe that’s why they don’t like you to return things

I needed fast turnaround prints for a discerning group client. Whistler Fotosource staff were fast and friendly, and turned out a high quality product. I would recommend them highly.

I've been using fotosource for years, they've always been so great. This Christmas (last minute i might add), i put in an order for 6 of their hardcover photo books. Using a very user friendly app i was able to put them together simply. I happen to go into the store twice and the staff were amazing, they went out of their way to check my book from their end and insure it all looked good. Was told a 2 week wait but within a week got my books and am in love. They are gorgeous. Staff was helpful and lovely, and the quality of their products were so amazing. Can't wait to do my next books.

Insane how you read comments from years ago and nothing has changed - rude staff and bad experience. The faces some of them make once you come in, just as if "oh look another annoying customer that contributes to supporting our business, let's be rude to him for that". The only reason going there - the only place that deals with film in this town. But even that they can't do in a proper way, I had my 36exp film dropped off and only received around 20 uploads. I thought maybe the film was damaged or didn't capture anything worth scanning, but checking the negatives I could clearly see it was fine. Had to bring it back twice so I get the full photo stack. The film was really expensive too. If it wasn't for me to keep the negatives - those initial missed photos worth good money would've been long time gone. Having them letting city-based business do film development, leaving scanning for themselves to deal with, it's totally foto source's mistake. So negligent and unprofessional. Besides that, reading owner's responses here, clearly does not even acknowledge how rude the staff is and not being sorry at least for that. That along with the fact it never improved for years makes me think the owner is the one being rude to customers. If you don't like what you're doing just stop doing it, no reason to make someone else's experience or day bad. At least try and make other nicer staff members deal with customers. What a shame of a place. Once there is any other possible place dealing with film and photo/video equipment, these guys are going down.
